It Is Well
Yes, I had a birthday!!! On Tuesday, May, 17th, I celebrated my 40th (yes, indeed) Birthday!!! It was a really wonderful day. I did not do anything spectacular that day, other than my usual routine, but my spirit was at ease and my heart was full!
I started the day at work, where we celebrated with lunch from YUM! Kitchen & Bakery. It was delicious, and a fun way to kick off my birthday. Throughout the day I received SO MANY meaningful messages via text, phone calls, Facebook, Marco Polo, and fb messenger! My heart was completely filled by the outpouring of love.
After work I picked the kids up from school and we hurried home to get Makaiya fancied up for her dance pictures in Eden Prairie. Thankfully I have a wonderful dance mom friend who graciously helped her with makeup! Full disclosure: I am not great in this department! I did watch and take notes, so I can give it a try soon. YIKES! Pictures went great, we had to Presto Change-o into her softball uniform, and head over to Chaska for Softball team pictures. I did bring makeup removing wipes so we could return her face to softball player status. Haha! Softball pictures were quick and easy. Darek met us there with Toby and Carina, as Darek and Toby had baseball practice shortly after.
We went out to dinner as a family at Q’Doba. It is always nice to find a quick food option that can accommodate all of our likes and needs. Once we finished eating, Darek and Toby took off for practice and I headed home with the girls. We had a nice, relaxing remainder of our evening and the girls gave me all sorts of sweet trinkets that were special to them. I am now the proud owner of a pop-it bracelet and a few crafts that they put together in Sunday School and at AWANA. :-) Carina did draw a beautiful flower, and included a sweet letter with it.
Darek gave me a beautiful pair of crocodile, white, patent leather Doc Martens!! They are shiny and fun, and I can’t wait to wear them!!!
The next day, I had the day off and a few of my dear friends stole me away for a delicious lunch and beautiful afternoon at the Arboretum. My favorite flowers are tulips (alongside Calla Lilies), and the tulips at the Arb are in full bloom. I just read today that they have 40,000 bulbs planted this year! It was absolutely stunning! The theme was HOPE with the dominate color being yellow to deliver on that theme. As my sister-in-law, Emily said: “Springtime of Hope, and Summer of Healing go hand in hand.” Perfectly stated!
All in all, it was a glorious birthday because of each one of you. God really showered me with love this year! Thank you for being so thoughtful and considerate!
I trust the Lord with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. ~Psalm 28:7
It is WELL…. with me!
