A Good Day for A Good Day!
Happy Saturday, my friends! It is rainy and mild outside today, yet a beautiful day to celebrate two dear friends as they marry one another and join families. I love weddings, and am especially humbled that Between Two Gardens was given the opportunity to provide wedding favors for this beautiful event. Our entire mission is to Spread Hope and Spread Joy, and what better event than a wedding to do just that.
I’m seriously excited!!! EEEEEE!!!!!!
This comes on the heels of a full, uncomfortable week of procedures. On Thursday I had my annual colonoscopy, which turned out just great! We have progressed from Year 1 - Colon Cancer, to Year 2 - 2 polyps removed, to Year 3 - ZERO polyps or causes for concern!! Praise The Lord!!! Again, this is a testament to the numerous dietary changes I have made over the course of the past 2 years. Unfortunately, I get to do this yet again next year! (This is me - jumping for joy - - Haha!) Most people my age have not gone through this process and I highly encourage it as soon as your insurance will cover it. Colon cancer is affecting more and more young people, and colonoscopies are super beneficial in detecting early signs of colon cancer. While the prep is not fun at all, the procedure is super simple, and I have fallen asleep each time with the sedation. It’s really a nice nap! :-)
Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8
Moving on, I had my “power port” placed in my upper right chest on Friday (yesterday). I definitely had myself a little more anxious about this than I needed to be. The staff at Southdale Interventional Radiology are absolutely fantastic. They are fun, and funny. They are talkative, and kind. I felt very much at ease during this procedure as I was partially sedated, but awake. The Doctor numbed the area with lidocaine shots (kind of like the dentists use to numb your mouth), so that is really the only “pain” initially. It’s really more like a pin prick, not painful. The port went in quickly and they glued me back together. :-) Just like new, only with a superhero “bump” under my skin. I’ll admit that once the lidocaine wore off last night I was in a good bit of discomfort. Tylenol to the rescue! Sleep was a little sketchy, but I do feel much better this morning. I was instructed - no showers for 3 days! YIKES! Trust me, nobody wants that!
Now, to try and take a “bath” without getting that site wet… Wish me well. Haha!
I wish for each of you a very Happy Weekend! May you find Joy in your days, whatever your plans may be.
